Engineer Bio:
Duane received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville in 1988. He has been with Knox County Highway Department since June 1988 working as a Civil Engineer until his appointment to County Engineer in 1999.


County Background:
Established on January 13, 1825, Knox County is named after Henry Knox, a soldier of the Revolution who commanded the storming party at Stony Point; later a Major General and Washington's Secretary of War. When originally formed, Knox County included about half the State of Illinois, all of Indiana, and parts of Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin as these states exist at present.
